One of the nation’s favourite foodie weeks returns 23 – 30 April 2024, as we celebrate the 14th year of Great British Beef Week (GBBW). Launching on St George’s Day, this year’s GBBW is encouraging the nation to enjoy ‘naturally delicious’ British beef.
For more details about GBBW please visit the Simply Beef and Lamb website.
GBBW is a week-long celebration of British beef’s quality, taste and world-leading farming credentials.
The industry including farmers, supermarkets, butchers, farm shops, pubs and restaurants unite to recognise British beef farmers and highlight the work they do to support sustainable production practices on their farms.
Farming and food industry: head over to the GBBW event page on the AHDB website to access free social assets, marketing materials and find out how you can support the campaign.
We hope you’ll join us by tucking into your favourite delicious British beef dishes. If you’re after new beef recipe ideas and cooking tips head over to www.SimplyBeefandLamb.co.uk.
During GBBW we’ll be highlighting the innovative and sustainable farming methods from producers across Britain. Don’t forget to follow us on Instagram, Facebook and X (formerly Twitter).
Hear more about the great quality and excellent environmental credential of British beef in this GBBW podcast with Minette Batters and beef farmers David and Churi Barton.
We asked Jilly Greed (Ladies in Beef co-founder), Minette Batters (NFU President and Ladies in Beef co-founder) and Adam Henson (British Farmer, TV Presenter and Patron of Ladies in Beef) for their thoughts on the importance of sustainability and GBBW.
Ladies in Beef (LiB) are the organisers of GBBW, supported by AHDB, as well as Red Tractor, National Farmers Union, The Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution (RABI) and Hybu Cig Cymru.
Ladies in Beef have chosen the Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution (RABI) as their charity for GBBW again for 2023. Since being involved in this annual campaign, RABI (Charity Registration No: 208858) has organised more than 50 beef week events and raised £90,000 for farming people in need of financial support.
RABI is a national charity providing local support to the farming community across England and Wales. They offer wellbeing, financial and practical support and guidance to farming people of all ages, including those no longer working in the sector. They also offer mental health training for individuals and organisations in the farming community. Call 0800 188 4444 or email help@rabi.org.uk to find out how we can help you.
